Since 2014 Sue Sykes has been a member of the Lonsdale Mortgages broking team supporting the St Albans mortgage brokers with individual customer mortgages.  Sue’s role is to progress mortgage applications on behalf of Lonsdale Mortgage customers so they receive their mortgage offer quickly and with minimum hassle.

Sue Sykes, St Albans mortgage administrator and member of the Lonsdale Mortgages broking team said:

'We normally have between 35-40 ongoing mortgage cases, and most of my work involves chasing lenders to get a mortgage offer agreed quickly or calling solicitors to get information about the legal side of the purchase or re-mortgage. All our customers appreciate using Lonsdale Mortgages because we are always available to talk on the phone to update them on progress.  We are a small team based in St Albans, Hertfordshire but we offer a dedicated client service experience for all our customers.’

Sue Sykes, member of the St Albans mortgage broking team said:

‘I arrive at Lonsdale Mortgages, St Albans offices, Frogmore between 8.00 and 8.15am.  My first job is to check my emails and respond to any outstanding client enquiries.  For example I may have received an email from a lender wanting to see more customer bank statements before approving an interest only mortgage.  I will contact the customer and get the relevant information and progress the application.  For the remainder of the morning I will review and progress my outstanding tasks on Intelligent Office.  IO is a web-based business management system used by some mortgage advisers.  All our mortgage cases are uploaded onto the system and I will diarise tasks to complete on certain days.  I will pro-actively call lenders to check on our mortgage cases.  Although it is only our responsibility to get a customer their mortgage offer, I will also call solicitors to ensure the mortgage completes on time. Once the mortgage is completed we will submit the mortgage application to our Quality Assurance Manager, Lee-Anne Peters.  She checks that our St Albans mortgage brokers have offered the customer the most suitable mortgage product and used an appropriate mortgage lender.

After a busy day at work I may spend the evening exercising as I am training for my first Triathlon on the 13th May.  Read Sue Sykes, Lonsdale Mortgages broking team member raises over £1,000 for British Heart Foundation.  I sometimes run the 3km to my body conditioning class, or swim at Westminster Lodge.  At the weekends I join a St Albans ladies cycling club or swim in open water at a nearby lake.’
