On Sunday August 4th, Sue Sykes, mortgage administrator in the  Lonsdale Mortgages broking team based in St Albans completed the Prudential Ride London to Surrey (and back) 100 miles bike ride.

The cyclists start at the Olympic Park in Stratford and go through the centre of London out to the Surrey hills then return through central London to the Mall where the race finishes.

Sue Sykes, Lonsdale Mortgages administrator in St Albans, Hertfordshire said:

‘On reflection I had a great day but at the time I wasn’t so sure, as this is a really hard challenge!  Due to lots of accidents, congestion at pinch points, queueing and having to get off the course for the men’s professional race several thousand of us were diverted off the full course and onto a course where the maximum mileage was 86 miles.  So through no fault of my own I could only complete 86 miles. This was slightly disappointing but at the end of the day I arrived on The Mall to meet my family in one piece.  A massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, I have raised nearly £900 for The Sick Children’s Trust.’
